Trip Overview

This trek takes you around the Kathmandu Valley and includes impressive panoramic views of the natural world. In this area of true wilderness you will enjoy some of the best views of the massive mountain ranges that Nepal is famous for. For the first few days you walk through the ancient forest, the "Shivapuri" jungle. This brings you to Nagorkot, renowned througout Asia for sunrise and sunset views of towering mountains. From here you spend the last few days of the trip treking through local villages, where you can experience the traditions and cultures of the region. Contact with the local people makes this a holiday you will long remember.

Trip Details

Day: 01. KTM - KAKANI- PATISWARA (2100m.).
Drive to Kakani, which will take approx one hour where you will be received by trekking crews. After an initial preparation, hot lunch will be served at Kakani. After lunch, you will further trek to reach the first day's camping place of PATISWARA. During the trek a good view of Annapurna range, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Gaurishanker range and other peaks can be seen, depending on weather conditions.

Day: 02. PATISWARA TO SHIVAPURI (2725m). After breakfast, a gentle trek of about 5 to 6 hours through dense forest to Shivapuri (2725 m) (a Hindu holy place) and one of the best mountain and landscape view points in Nepal. We may encounter wild animals along the way. Overnight camp at Shivapuri Jungle.

Day: 03. SHIVAPURI TO DHAP (2210m).
If weather permits, a nice sunrise view from Shivapuri top can be seen. After breakfast, we trek to Chisapani. Lunch break at Chisapani where there is little human shelter and few tea houses. After lunch, we trek to Dhap. Along the trail, we will have a good view of the Himalayas.

Day: 04. DHAP TO NAGARKOT(1932m).
After breakfast, trek to Chowki Bhanjyang, where lunch will be served. After lunch trek another three hours to reach Nagarkot. Nagarkot is one of the most scenic spots, situated about 35 km east of Kathmandu where an excellent view of snow-capped peaks of the Himalayan ranges in eastern Nepal to western Nepal can be seen. Nargarkot is renowned for spectacular sunrise and sunset views. Overnight at Nagarkot.

Day: 05. NAGARKOT TO DHULIKHEL (1490m).
After breakfast, trek through the village and forest to Kashi Bhanjyang. After lunch, trek to Dhulikhel for overnight camp. This is another good spot to view the sunrise with the majestic mountains glowing in the early morning light.

Day: 06. DHULIKHEL TO ROSHI BAZAR (1578m).
On this day we trek through old and traditional villages. Lunch will be provided enroute. We will make camp near to local people where there will be opportunities to share the warmth of these close-knit communities.

Day: 07. ROSHI BAZAR TO PHULCHOKI (2762m).
After breakfast the trek ascends all the way to Phulchoki where we camp at the top of the hill. It is the last day to view this beautiful, mountainous landscape.

Day: 08. PHULCHOKI TO KATHMANDU.
The treks descend three hours all the way to Godawori. Lunch break at Godawori, Visit botanical garden and drive about 1 hour to get back to Kathmandu
