Trip Overview

The Langtang Himal is a region north part of Kathmandu vally and it lies just south of Tibetan border. The langtang valley is surrounded by high peaks of great appeal. It has become famous ever since the British mountaineer Bill Tilman described it as the most beautiful valley in the world. The highest peak in this area is Shisapangma or Gosaithan 8027m in Tibet . The course from the Langtang valley to Gosaikund is full of diversity and it is attracting many tourists. The langtang valley is also know as the treasure house of Alpine plants. The whole valley is cover with flowers during the summer.This high and isolated region is inhabited by Tamangs whose religious practices, language and dress are much more similar to Tibetan.

Trip Details

Day: 01. Kathmandu to Dhunche (1937m.)
Drive approximately 8 hrs to Dunche with a beautiful view of the Trisuli River and surrounding forests.

Day: 02..Dhunche to Syabru Village (2387m.)
A pleasant walk down to Shyabru Village brings us across the Langtang River, the trail then ascends for approximately 2 hrs and then a further 2 hrs to reach to Shybru Village. From here we witness a magnificent view of Mt. Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Mt. Kerung of Tibet.

Day: 03. Syabru Village to Lama Hotel (2383m.)
The trail descends for approximately 2hrs and then ascends for another 1hr to reach Bombu Village. Following this we climb through Bamboo ungle to end our day at Lama hotel.

Day: 04. Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3541m.)
We trek through rhododendron and pine forested areas for approximately 6 hrs. until we reach Langtang.

Day: 05. Langtang Village to Kyangjingg Gompa (3700m.)
After trekking 3 hrs. we arrive at Kyanging Gompa. From this point Mt. Ganchempo and Langtang Himal are in fine view.

Day: 06. Kyangjing Gompa to Langsisa Kharka
After 5 hrs upward trek we reach langsisa Kharka hidden valley of the region from where panoramic views of the Langsisa Himal, Langtang Ri, Bhairab Takura, Dorje Lakpa, Yala and Lirung Glacier can be seen. Over night at tent.

Day: 07. Langsisa Kharka to Kyangjingg Gompa
Follow the same route as before.

Day: 08. Kyangjingg Gompa Rest day
Explore Kyangjingg by visiting Monastery and cheese Factory.

Day: 09. Kyangjing Gompa to Langtang Village
Follow the same route as before.

Day: 10. Langtang Village to Lama Hotel
Follow the same route as before.

Day: 11. Lama Hotel to Syabru Village
Follow the same route as before.

Day: 12. Syabru Village to Kathmandu
9 hours bus drive to Kathmandu.
