Pokhara :
PokharaPokhara, known as the second city of Nepal, is situated in the western part of Nepal. Popular for various kinds of scenery, you can see the whole Annapurna range, three lakes, (Phewa, Begnas and Rupa), caves and gorges. The local people with their Hindu temples and Buddhist monasteries will keep you fascinated.

Lumbini:
LumbiniSituated in the south west of Nepal, Lumbini is the hallowed birthplace of Buddha. The main attraction at Lumbini is the sacred Garden that is spread over 8 sq km and possesses all the treasures of the historic area. The Mayadevi temple, currently under renovation, is the main attraction for pilgrims and archeologists alike. This is where we find a bass relief if Mayadevi, the Buddha's mother, giving birth to him as two Hindu gods shower him with lotus petals and holy water. Shakyamuni Buddha was born in Lumbini, in southen Nepal, twenty five hundred years ago. Lumbini has since been holy ground for Buddhists all over all the world. In the restored garden are the remains of many ancient stupas and monasteries. A large stone pillar erected by the Indian Emperor Ashoka in 250 BC bears an inscription about the birth of the Buddha. An important part of Lumbini is the Temple of Mayadevi who gave birth to lord Buddha, holding onto a branch. It has been well worn by the strokes of barren women hoping for fertility. To the south of the temple is a pool where Queen Mayadevi is said to have bathed and given her son his purification bath. A quiet garden, shaded by 30 leafy trees (the type under which Buddha received enlightment ) and a newly planted forest nearby add an air of tranquility which reflects Buddhas teachings.

An important archeological site near Lumbini, Kapilvastu, evokes the ancient place where lord Buddha spent his formative years. Scattered foundations of the palace are abundant and archaeologists have by now discovered 13 successive layers of human habitation dating back to the eight century BC. A must see for archaeological are history buffs. Besides its religious and historical significance, Lumbini offers insights into the cultural village life of southern Nepal

Also of interest is the temple of the most powerful and popular god, Kalika. This is decorated with ancient art and architecture. Three mountain ranges, the Manasalu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal, which include more than 40 mountains, surround the area. Here you can see the culture of the western ethnic groups.

Bandipur:
BandipurBandipur is a picturesque town nestled in the Himalayan foothills of Nepal, a land as famous for its natural beauty as for the hospitality of its people. Bandipur lies midway between the capital Kathmandu and Pokhara, another popular tourist destination.

Situated on a hilltop above the highway town of Dumre, Bandipur captivates the visitor with its cultural appeal and pristine scenery. This Newar town has maintained its age-old flavour, and presents sightseers with a heady mix of history, architecture, incredible views, awesome caves and unspoiled landscapes.

Bandipur has been described as a natural view tower; indeed, one can enjoy a spectacular panorama of the entire Annapurna Range plus the peaks of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Langtang from here. Apart from the stunning views of the Himalaya and the Marsyangdi Valley, a visit to the town is an opportunity to get a close look at Newar cultural life.
